Hamilton Caledonian Bowling Club
Male Voice Choir
Going out to perform concerts is the culmination of all our hard work during our rehearsal nights, and an opportunity to join with our guest soloists in entertaining live audiences. We are available for concert engagements during the Choir Session, which runs from September to March, i.e. in the Bowling close season. If your group or organization is interested in engaging us, please contact the Choir Secretary -
As shown in our “Choir History” page, the Choir has undertaken Concert Tours outwith Scotland. If you are a member of a church or organization interested in engaging the Choir, we would encourage you to get together with other like-
Membership of the Choir is open to all men, aged 17 or over. Having been founded by members of the Hamilton Caledonian Bowling Club, the Choir is closely affiliated to the Bowling Club, but has its own constitution and Committee. We encourage all members of the Choir to become members of the Bowling Club, but, as agreed with the Committee of Management of the Bowling Club, this is not a condition of Choir membership.
There is no formal audition, and members do not have to be able to read music. Rehearsals are held in the Bowling Club on Thursday evenings between 7.15pm and 9.30pm. A lot of serious work is done during rehearsals, but the evenings are always interspersed with light banter.
You will find us to be a friendly group of men, who enjoy the camaraderie of our fellow songsters, and you will receive a warm welcome if you join us. Anyone interested in joining us, or who would like to come along and just sit and listen during a rehearsal, without any obligation, should contact the Choir Secretary.
